Vancouver, BC – the Donnelly Pub Group, together with their charity arm The Donnelly Fund, hosts Mindscape: The Art of the Gallery Gachet Collective on May 19th at the Metropole. The event will feature an art exhibit and auction that benefits the philanthropic initiatives of Gallery Gachet, a unique artist institution in Vancouver’s downtown Eastside.
Featured artists at the event include: Ariel Kirk-Gushowaty, Bonitio, Cherise Clarke, Diane Thorn, Dylan Wolney, Jay Peachy, Kara Lee, Karen Ward, Laurie Marshall, Leef Evans, Quin Martins, Robert Gardiner, Sharon Burns, Youngshin Lee, Bruce Ray, Lisa Walker, Sharon Smith, W.N. (Bill) Pope, Bernadine Fox, and Stephen Long. All proceeds from the evening’s auctioned pieces, ticket and door sales go directly to the Gastown gallery.
Mindscape: The Art of the Gallery Gachet Collective takes place at the Metropole (320 Abbott Street, Vancouver BC) on Wednesday, May 19, 2010 from 7pm – 10pm. Tickets are available at the Gallery Gachet (88 East Cordova) , The Metropole (320 Abbott St) or www.clubzone.com.
Gachet provides artists who speak to mental health, trauma, or abuse experience with opportunities to collaborate, exhibit, curate, perform, publish and teach. They support these artists in the development of their professional art practices. Through artistic means they aim to demystify and challenge issues related to mental health and social marginalization in order to educate the public and promote social and economic justice. The space holds solo, group, juried and curated exhibits, featuring local, national and international artists with programming from a range of art practices. The Donnelly Fund is a non-profit organization committed to assisting individual families in crisis, helping them stay together through a monthly support program, and supports the Salvation Army, the Greater Vancouver Food Bank and BC Children’s Hospital Foundation.
